01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Situated in the vibrant heart of Auckland Central, Ground Coffee Queen Street offers much more than your typical city cafe experience. Nestled conveniently in the ground floor lobby at 205 Queen Street, this gem invites you to step into a serene oasis amid the urban bustle. From the moment you enter, the soothing sound of a water fountain and lush greenery immediately calm the senses, setting the stage for a truly peaceful coffee break.

The café prides itself on delivering exceptional coffee crafted with genuine passion and precision. Whether you’re a fan of a bold Espresso, the classic Americano, or the smooth Flat White, each cup is a testament to quality and care. Coffee enthusiast Akane beautifully captures this, sharing that "Sam’s coffee is absolutely the best I’ve ever tasted," highlighting the rich, smooth flavors and the unique character brought out by different beans. For those seeking something refreshing, the seasonal menu features invigorating summer drinks like Honey & Lemon and Matcha & Soda—perfectly designed to cool you down and invigorate your day.

Ground Coffee Queen Street also offers a delectable range of fresh, savory treats to accompany your drink. The delicious Ham & Cheese Croissant and Rueben Toastie are notable stars, while the Bacon & Egg Bap and traditional Sausage Roll provide hearty options that comfort and satisfy. Jane Hodgen’s recommendation of the cheese scones and pastries adds yet another tempting reason to visit regularly. The menu’s thoughtful variety, from Fridge items like Roast Veg Quiche and Pie to comforting Hot Chocolate and Mocha, caters to every craving and time of day.

The atmosphere here is a standout — peaceful and spacious, with a natural ambiance enhanced by greenery and gentle water features. Martin Hurst describes it as a “quiet, peaceful and spacious place to get coffee,” making it an ideal spot for those craving a moment of calm or a productive work session away from the frantic city pace. Sophia Morgan’s praise for the friendly, attentive service from staff like Aoka adds a warm human touch that elevates the overall experience.

In sum, Ground Coffee Queen Street is more than just a stop for caffeine; it is a sanctuary where great coffee meets impeccable service and a tranquil environment. Whether you’re a local professional, a traveler exploring Auckland, or simply someone searching for that perfect cup in a welcoming setting, this café promises a memorable visit that invites you to savor every sip and bite.

Sam’s coffee is absolutely the best I’ve ever tasted! Every cup has such a rich, smooth flavor, and you can really tell the care and passion that goes into it. My favorite is the filter coffee, which has a unique flavor each time depending on the beans. I'm so grateful for this opportunity to enjoy and learn from Sam — his dedication and skill make every coffee experience special. Highly recommend to anyone who loves quality coffee!⭐

I Do recommend you to come to Ground Coffee!!! Ground Coffee is on the way to go wo my workplace. I regulrary have a cup of coffee. I felt huge warm and kindness at first time having coffee. I told him I am so much interested in coffee. Everytime he gives me coffee, he explains what he uses coffee beans. That is so nice for coffee beginers like me I thought Ground Coffee is one of big coffee shop brand because there are so many companies in twin building. It was not, Sam & Marie own Ground Coffee. I could have small talk with Sam everymorning. I knew He has been wanting to open his own coffee shop for many years. And Sam won 2017 London Latte art competition!!! I could not stop enjoying my Healing Coffee time. Please come and have awesome Ground Coffee!!!

Peaceful, fast internet, food looked great, and they seemed to care about their coffee. The filter coffee I got was obviously prepared with care, but was only okay. The espresso drinks looked fantastic as they came out. I'll be getting one of those next time.
